Fashion Photography

1. There was light added to the models face. They then put a lot of makeup on her and did her hair. They extended her neck and thinned it. They raised her eyebrows and made her eyes larger. Her face was also thinned. 

2. The models eyes were enlarged and her nose was adjusted. They raised her shoulders, slimmed her stomach, and elongated her legs. They also made her feet smaller in width and elongated them while they also slimmed her thighs. 

3. The models legs, arms, and stomach were signinficantly slimmed. Her skin tone was played with and little marks and blemishes all over her body were covered. She was also given much more hair then she originally had. 

4. I do not believe it is exceptable to change someones appereance at all. If you have such low self asteem that you need to make sure every last detail looks perfect, you have a problem. If you have a blemish covered or something as small altered, its not as big of a deal but when you slim down your stomach, or legs, thats unreasonable. Every should be able to feel comfortable in their own skin and ads and companies like this aren't helping. 

5. I beleive its ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation in any circumstance. People should be able to feel comfortable in every position they are put in without others thinking its not "perfect". 

6. I think that small blemish changes are ok but when you go as far as sliming down arms, stomachs, legs, you've crossed the line. 

7. I think fashion photography aims to make everything perfect no matter how much they hurt others. Photojournalism is set to capture whats really going on. The true aspects of the situation. 

8. Each type of photography is set to show how real something is like I said in my above answer. Each type is put in a circumstance where things in this instance are either moraly rong, or right. In places where people think everything must be perfect, such as fashion photography, this type of manipulation takes place. 

9. I think these videos were meant to show the power of photo manipulation. To also show how industries are so hungry for absolute perfection. 

10. Guys don't usually care as much as girls do about how tall they are or how skinny. It shows that girls are the targets of perfection in industries like this. Girls tend to have a lower self asteem when it comes to things like apperance and what society might think of them.

  -I think the most powerful image was number 6, when Ian is telling his friends goodbye and it says they finally realized what was actually happening.
   Set #1- 1-15

  -I think set 1 was most powerful because you can see that they all realize like I said before that he was really leaving and they are all so emotional and not ready for him to go.
  -The images layout a story without words that shows his journey and all the struggles he's faced along the way. They show his journey in chronological order and each step he took throughout his long, hard task.
  -The photos are usually written in present tense.
  -The captions help the picture tell a story and explain exactly what's going on.

#8- Ian stands in line waiting with his fellow army goers. He later admits to how nervous he was.
#12- Ian gets his head shaved by the local man who has done so to many others before. Ian says the man wasn't very gentle.
#18- Ian struggles to pick up his bag. The bag was very heavy and contained almost everything Ian needed for his time at the base.

We relate aperture with the human eye. 

The smaller the aperture, the larger the f-stop. The higher the aperture, the smaller the f-stop. 

The smaller the aperture, the more focused the background will be and vice versa.

The author recomends you use a low ISO whenever possible.

Funny Captions

Kitty is stuck in the jar and can't move and is becoming very confused and someone needs to help kitty!

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3

While looking at this photographers photos, I really enjoyed the nature aspect he took. He also made me feel like I was sitting in front of the scene pictured.


Photo 2-

I see two boys who are curious. They might be lost. It also looks like they've had something terrible happen to them recently. Maybe they lost a loved one. Maybe they were the ones who passed.
I smell the crisp autumn air. I can sense the leaves being somewhat bitter of an aroma.
I can hear the crunching of the dried leaves. Something rustling in the woods behind the boys. I can hear the silence of the heavy atmosphere. A car drives by and you can faintly hear the sound in the background.
I can taste the bitter of the leaves. Also, the cold air. The faint, but sweet flavor of the nearby meadow full of the dying flowers.
I feel the cool wind blowing over my fingertips. I also feel sad for the boys. Confused, too.

Photo 3-

I see trees. Dead or dying. I assume they have fallen over maybe due to an ice storm, explaining the hills of snow I also see. The surroundings look quiet.
I can smell the cold feeling of the snow. There is also a taste hanging in the air of the dying bark.
I hear the noise of the small animals running through the forest. There is also the sound of the the crunching of the ice under my feet.
I can taste the cold air of the snow. The smell of the trees, I can taste.
I feel cold. I also feel confused. What happened here? I feel afraid of what might be lurking.

I think it would be cool to do a bog about this photographer and everyday, put up a new picture of his and update viewers with the information i provided above and describe the physical and emotional aspects of it. Also I think it would be cool to set up a mini art show to tell people more about this artist and get the word out about his amazing work.

Mural Project Preview

I think we could photograph all the different types of people here at Bowie. Show all the different types of groups and crowds the school has.
I think using both cameras and phones would be okay. I know I feel like I work better with my phone, having more control. i think we could put it right when we walk into the academic hall. I think it would be cool to somehow mount it to the ground, in front of the library.

Abandoned Theme Parks

I would visit Chippewa Lake Park, Medina County, Ohio. Everything is overgrown and I think it would be a very interesting place to go. All of the plants and half of the rides have taken over. It seems very old and creepy and like it would make a neat place to photograph. It also seems very dangerous and unstable.

This photograph is unbelievable. The fact that this is real, amazes me. I think it would be cool to go here and figure out what all is there. Seeing all the different animals and plants, really the entire environment embalmed almost, blows my mind. I would love to take photos of the environment and show and tell others about this wonderful place. 

I would most likely need permission from someone to get here. I would have to take a long plane ride and bring along a lot of equipment with me. I would have to have many different cameras for different purposes along with different lenses. Im sure this spot is not open to just anyone so I would have to go through a lot, as the photographer of this photo probably did.
